How is it I have 2 planets with same settings, differences of mining(metal rating), where the higher metal plt requires more mining to be gaining metal??
Habitablity: 98.49% Loan: 0 Citizenry:
Metal Rating: 91.75%
Mining 3.28% 3.24% 9.77% 16.00% Guns 1.00 50.00%
Engineering 2.25% 2.22% 15.70% 84.00%

Habitablity: 90.49% Loan: 0 Citizenry:
Metal Rating: 92.40%
Mining 3.39% 3.35% 8.75% 16.00% Guns 1.00 50.00%
Engineering 2.25% 2.22% 16.01% 84.00%

These are both running rest of employment in housing and hydro

I think it was like this before the mining adjustment values as well, it just didn't dawn on me like it should have

It's because of the habitability rating. The higher the habitability rating, the lower the cost of new houses. Since new houses are your primary metal consumption, the higher habitability planet costs less to build more houses, especially once you pass the 100,000 population mark where housing costs go up.

Is there a cap on the % used in hydro at all? I'm just noticing that they're showing 1.01%'s now... would make more sense if i had tons of troops but nope.
Curious I guess :)

Hydroponics is 100% efficient, so it only ever builds what it needs. The only variable as to how much it needs is troop level, but at 'typical troop levels', 0.98-1.02% are completely normal values, and that can quickly rise towards 1.1% at around 10% troop levels.

It may seem odd seeing the number so often, as SE didn't include the capacity percentage for Hydro in its economic reports, it was only in the labor modification screen, and of course you could calculate it yourself based on capacity numbers in the economic report.

That's what I thought, had to ask though ;) I never did pay attention to my #'s in SE back in the day as I had just gotten to figure it out when they killed it, maybe if I had learned it sooner I'd know more about how it was back then :D
