If you see the message "An error occurred when verifying security for the message" when attempting to log it, it likely means the time you have set doesn't match the timezone you have set on your computer or your clock is out of sync by more than 5 minutes.
To correct this, just verify your computer's clock is set to the right timezone and run a time synchronization with the windows time server (or manually set it to be correct).
The reason for this is the server negotiates security policies and uses the time of each machine as part of the contract, and they must agree to be within a certain range of each other.
